just be aware of this website showing quality deer that has been supposedly harvest recently. problem is that you will not see 40 deer at a time on the supposedly "trophy" pasture. matter of fact, just primarily does and a few spikes. biggest buck we saw was a four pointer on the 3rd day. we also noticed the feeders were not very big and fed very little. as one is taken to the blind, corn is spread at several places near the blinds and hopefully will draw the deer from the other ranch that is very big and has a low fence in which the deer will cross over to feed off of the feeders. one has to pay at least $500 to hunt on the pastures A and B with one is the trophy pasture which cost $700. also if one harvest a deer it must be at least with 8 points and a 15 inch spread. if not then a $500 penalty with be added to the $500 for one that is supposed to be harvest so if one shoots a smaller deer or doe, the cost is $1000 of which most do anyway. the only thing for sure is that the camp has a shed with tables for one to barbeque their steaks because one has to bring their own food and bed rolls and utensils. the room do have the bunk beds but the room is very small yet there is plenty of room outside to park. again here is the website. http://www.double-jj-ranch.com/rifle.html

Also, one has to pay attention to one whose first post is a "beware of ....... ranch/outfitter/etc.."
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

WTH do you expect for $500? Of course they're not going to feed you for that. And no, I wouldn't expect to kill a trophy for $500. I find the "Trophy Pasture" thing pretty comical. As if the trophy bucks know which pasture they're to remain in. Sounds like a gimmick to get uninformed city boys to part with more of their money.

Well I will tell you this and have the emails to prove it from jimmy ..... Operator of double JJ ranch and... I quote.... From when asking for any references " I don't use references , never have and never will. My pictures should speak for themselves. I am not providing references"
Needless to say, I stayed away from this a** clown

Sucks but looking at their website they list everything you complain about. You should have known from the start what you are getting into, they did not blindside you, they just offered a crappy deal and you accepted.

Was not your first warning the fact that on the main page it says "call now to book your 2012 hunts"?

to the forum. Thanks for sharing your bad experience with other members. I know when I was young and dumb I had some bad experiences myself as I started hunting in my late teens on my own without any experience or advice from family friends etc... and would of asked a lot more questions had I known what to ask and what to watch out for. Look at it the only way you can, you invested in wisdom knowing now what you didn't know before about all the liars and rip off artists that use hunting to make their living.

Why is this a sticky?
And what is up with the city boy comment.
That has nothing to do with it. Just a bad experience, maybe he should have done a better job investigating, but there was a time when folks could be trusted. I guess country folk can't be trusted. Tongue in cheek.
In reality it doesn't matter country or city there are crooks in both.
Sorry for the rant but the city boy comments are just ignorant.

I'm a city boy too, Country boy at heart. I still think LP pretty much nailed it though.

Ahhh what the heck I just came to the realization that I'm a city boy compared to you dyed in the wool hicks. I've only lived on a farm twice in my life and only owned land bigger than the lot my house sits on for the last ten yrs . Other than that I did spend a lot of time in the country, not this country mind you but several other countries and seldom saw anything that looked like a city, oh well guess you can't have it both ways. Sure can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can jump in the Mercedes convertible to go for a drive in the country to my land. Y'all have a good evening.
