am trying to determine if I want to add another caliber to my safe. No! Not for me! I have gotten myself pretty well consolidated and don't want to think about having to load and keep ammo on hand for yet another caliber. To each their own.

6.5 GRENDEL is a very good round. short and long range very accurate and better knock down than a 6.8! do some research you will like it I think!

I think the same way I'm consolidating all my calibers to just a few Consolidating....About 4 years ago during the first shortage I got rid of my 17hmr and went all .22's for my rimfires because you can always get cheap .22lr ammo - right? Now I'm thinking about getting another 17 because ammo is readily available and not so expensive. I wouldn't worry too much about keeping everything the same. You never know.

I am actually diversifying my calibers because of this. I always subscribed to the philosophy, buy common calibers ( 22 LR, 243, 270, 30-30 308, 30 06) so that you can always find ammo. But after last year ( not being able to buy 22 LR, 308m and other common calibers for months) I have changed my mind. I am also stocking up on ammo.

I recently built up an AR in 300 Blackout for my wife to shoot at pigs. It has a Leupold 2-7x32 scope, which is perfect for her. I'm really happy with how it turned out. More importantly, she's really happy with how it turned out!

My new hog gun: 300 blk SBR. Pictured with a SilencerCo 45 Osprey. Waiting on my AAC suppressor stamp.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

That looks wicked.. If the Osprey can handle the 300BLK, which I believe it can, I'd leave it LOL.

I have AR's in .308, .300AAC and 6.8....I choose the 6.8 any day of the week and twice on sunday. Its my personal favorite, and with all the new rounds made for it, there is always something for your taste. very close second choice would be the blackout, very light recoil, and the one i built has a 10.5" barrel, light and manueverable!
