Bought one a while back for this exact reason and finally some birds got in my buddies marsh. Walked up to about 40 yards of 500 snows in the wide open without them even raising their heads, had to call the shot early cause our hands were so cold we could hardly feel them. There will be plenty of snow goose tamales to come!! cheers . Hopefully many more to come in the next few weeks!

...and here I was thinking you were some master caller and you're out playing with bovine dolls? What the hell were they teaching you up there in Lubbock?

Isn't this considered "decoying" snow geese, Cody???? cheers

I got my yearly workout chasing the cripples by the way. Chasing a barely wounded snow goose in cow trampled marsh/prairie in waders is one of the toughest exercises in the world I bet. grin

No, I'm in Southeast Texas. I went to Texas Tech so that is why my location says Lubbock.

If it worked on snows then it should be deadly on ducks. Probably outlaw them soon!! Good idea!

Nicely done!

We made some cow silhouettes out of cardboard a few years ago to sneak up on a bunch of snows in a wheat field. It amazed me how close we got to the flock. We cut little peep holes in the cardboard so we wouldn't have to look over the silhouette.

Got 21 more today in a WIDE open prairie. There was only about 300 but we walked up to about 25 yards of them with the cow silo. We should have waited for them to fly but we dropped the silo and shot across a bunch of bodies cause none of them were alert and had their heads up. They are getting pretty comfortable out there. Hopefully more to come in the next week.

Not too new , they've been doing this since time began. Watch the movie Jeremiah Johnson on how to get in BP range of an Elk. Works extremely well on geese.

That is awesome. I'd rather do that than set up 1,000+ deeks laying in the mud with 10 other guys for a dozen snows.

I see you brought the dogs for help. Wise choice, and I bet they had fun.
