Have any of you guys tried the Walker Game Ear HD Elites? I've always used regular ear plugs, but it would be great to actually be able to hear while hunting. I've looked at some of the higher end custom digital earplugs like ESP and Defendear, but I just don't want to spend $1400+ at this point. The Walkers are available for under $400 a pair and the reviews online seem generally positive.

I don't know anything about the Walkers, but you can get the Defendear Passive Hunters for under $200. I highly recommend them.

I looked at those initially and the website mentioned that they weren't recommended for hunting where multiple shots are fired (ie. waterfowl). Do they seem to protect well enough?

I've hunted in a blind with multiple shooters on many hunts this year and never had an issue. They work as advertised. I would not recommend them for shooting rifles though.

I use the walkers alpha muffs. they are awesome! really does dull the gun shot but still let me hear everything going on and then some. I have noticed that they dull the sound of whistling wings. But its worth it to me!

I use one in my right ear---works great for hearing game. Noise cancellation for shots is good. I use a regular ear plug in the left ear before I shoot. Thinking about buying another for the left ear.

Don't do nothing yet as sport ear has a new one coming out. They are like the molded plugs but are a generic fit and have digital protection and enchantment. For a price of 400 I was told at DSC. I am on a waiting list now to get a pair when they are released.
