 can anything be done to get animals out in daylight?

Well coming near closure here in freer, tx 100 acre low fence. Game cam has 4 different bucks coming in all season. At night only of course. I did manage to see a 4 point in daylight but he only stuck around for 10 minutes and hauled it anyway. Hogs are nocturnal here. Always have been. Question is: what tactics can be done to help maximize daylight deer presence, if anything at all?

Boy I certainly don't think so with a game animal that is nocturnal by nature. I would be interested in anyone who has ideas otherwise.

Boy I certainly don't think so with a game animal that is nocturnal by nature. I would be interested in anyone who has ideas otherwise. You could change your feeder times later/shorter/less frequent, etc.etc. Hunt the trails instead of the feeders, etc.etc. You could even put a hog trap in the feeder pen and hope to catch an unsuspecting doe like I saw on another thread, but seriously I concur with 4W in that deer are generally nocturnal by nature and that is very hard to try and reprogram for them. You can certainly try and if you figure it out, please, please let me know the secret; I'd even consider paying you a sum of money for doing so.

Sounds about right. I guess lack of does in the area might have something to do with it.

Your deer are nocturnal because that is the time they prefer. Probably because they feel safe and there is less activity. If you change that, you'll change their behavior. Either they change their time they move or you'll run them off your property if it's a small place.
Of course, season is over today for most of us. However, if you have them on cam regularly at - say 11pm - go sit your area at 11pm and make just enough activity to make them uncomfortable. Spook them off their regular time and I'll guarantee they'll return at a different time - maybe right at daybreak.
Folks will say I'm nuts, but this WILL work. However, it is not without risk. You can risk spooking them off for a few days, and it's hard to predict what their new pattern will be. But at least it something to try if all else fails.
Hunting is all about patterns. Either ambushing of existing patterns or disrupting patterns to your advantage.

He just noticed that he had little to no activity at his blinds but all his corn would be gone in the morning. So he told me that him and his brother would sit in two different blinds until about 2 or 3 in the morning hog hunting. But their main goal was to disrupt the location at night. Each of them had a remote control truck and about every 10 minutes or so they would just roll it forward and back it up, just enough to make some noise down by the feeder. He said the "wine" of the RC was loud enough at night to just keep the deer out of the area. They lived there, so they were able to do this for a week or so solid. He claims it worked and he re patterned the deer.

Thats a great idea. Im gonna give that a shot. I stay late in the blind till 1pm usually and hunt hogs. Only thing is, its like they know I'm there and not even they come out. I have seen deer at night around the feeder, but because its illegal to shoot deer at night, the thought of passing a shot doesn't even run thru my mind. Tough season. Looking forward to next season already. lol

I would sit away from the feeders and find some active trails to set up close to.. I think too many of us like to sit in the blind and stare at a feeder just waiting for deer to show up.. I do the same but when the deer start slowing up during daytime hours i find a nice spot close to trails.. I have seen deer that i don't have on camera and apparently never come to my feeders.

All you got to do is leave your gun and bow at home .j\k But it does seem like every time I don't have a gun with me I see deer at my feeder .

Check your scent. Properly wash and store clothing and use no scent. Quiet getting in and out. Hunt the rut every day.

Corn feeder with timer that only goes off during day light hours. Even a cheap one will work and you dont have to throw a lot of corn either, just consistently throw some.
