Bought my own property in July. Got everything set up. Started feeding corn as well as protein. Talked with neighbors about harvesting deer. Had my sights set on a big wide 8 point. He walked in to my sights three times. Too young. Couldn't/Didn't take the shot. Want to see what he will be next year. I did take a doe that was 160 + on the hoof and a spike that was about 140+ on the hoof. Pretty dang good for Hill Country deer. All in all a fabulous 1st year on my own property.  Plenty of meat for my wife and I throughout this year. I am Happy, Happy, Happy with my 1st year on my own property. Hope you all have some great success stories from this deer season.

congrats bro, I had the best year as well. This is my third year really hitting the ground hard. I get to take my biggest buck of my life a 10 pt. also a doe and a nice management 8 down. Cant wait for next year.

Ours was average. I did get a big mature 8 point, field dressed 136 lbs. My Brother shot a big spike, a few hogs. Family place that doesn't get hunted much except by me. My Brother and Son are fair weather hunters only.  
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
