Wow...today was a different story. Still killed 60 birds. Took about 20 minutes...but it anyone in Texas ever tells me they are cold while hunting again I'm going to punch them right in the mouth. -42 degrees. 40mph wind...I've never experienced anything like it. Body hands and feet toasty...the two square inches of cheek meat that were showing feel like they are on FIRE. Instantly felt like razor blades hitting you in the face. Any exposed skin is instantly frozen. It was wild. Loading the plane I thought I was gonna die. You can't breathe in cold like that. I'm currently sitting Indian style in the bathroom in front of the space heater waiting on the shower to steam up to thaw out. Glad to be back in Texas!

Wow. That is a cold I cannot imagine.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

When I lived in South Dakota, the year the drought broke pheasants, turkey, grouse, and mule deer were everywhere. Love the taste of pheasant.

Yes. We flew into Pierre and drove north a ways. Had a flat on the rental suburban on the way back to the airport.. An old plug was leaking and no spare. There was cursing. Bought a dozen cans of fix a flat...you could get a quarter can in before the tube froze solid and broke off every time.
