Well I always knew it was just a matter of time. I read today that the city of Fallujah, Iraq has fallen to jihad joe. I served there in 07-08 and it's sickening. All the lives lost, injuries sustained, time spent away from families. I know it doesn't take those things away, but it does hurt. I feel politicians pulled us out before our mission was complete. I'd love nothing more then to go put some rounds down range and wreck shop on those [censored]. Hopefully something gets done about this. sorry, just a random rant.

Well this sure sounds familiar, first time I heard it was just over 40 years ago.

I hear you, man. I was with 4BDE 10MTN that took Sadr City in the summer of 08. I saw too many people killed and really aren't that happy about being wounded either. However, I knew as soon as the war started that a few Joes being there for a few years wasn't going to put a stop to 10,000 years of conflict. May they all kill each other without our help.

Yup I feel you too. I was with 1st BDE 1st CAV when we took Sadr City the first time in 04-05. Just to find out it was lost less than 6 months after we left.

I wouldn't piss on their heads if they were on fire. It's there fight now, Time for them to Man up and grow a pair and use the equipment we left along with all the training they got and make a stand or die. What a waist of time and Lives this gaggle has been.

Yesterday is dead and gone, you can't bring it back. Like HWY_MAM its been said before. I live and enjoy today, each and everyone of em. Remember that the politicians are the ones that start wars, then they send our young men and women to fight it for them. Not their young ones just ours. I'm sure none of them care much about anything but getting back in office. Sory your feeling bad about it.

I hate to see it happen. I, like many others, have put too much of my life into Iraq/Afghanistan and time away from family. I don't think it's going to get any better in Iraq and I don't think we have the political resolve to fix it in Afghanistan.

Haha. Yeah. If you were outside of Sadr City you were only a few ieds away. If you were inside the city going out you were just a few ieds and a couple ambushes away. Lol

My cuz is a Marine and helped liberate Fallujah back in 2003-04. I know he lost friends. Thank you to all those who have served, past, present, future.

Retired Army here. Salute to all who have served. What a shame. Don't believe they will stop fighting ever over there.

Sounds like Cambodia all over again. Operation Fishhook May 1970. And now they are living here.

I was with the 1/12th Cav in Viet Nam at Xuan Loc in 1970. They were air assault then. Then they gave the whole country back to the Communist.

I went through air assault school but didn't do me much good down there at Hood.

Pull our troops out of the middle east and turn it into glass.I worked over there for a few years and the radicals will never change and will continue to fight each other as they have for centuries. Thank every one for their service and protect the ones still there.

Same old story, and I lost my youth back in 66-69 in the Vietnam jungle.
Too bad the politicians and a lot of Americans have such short memories.
I really believe we would have less of this if running for higher political office or even the President required that you served in the armed forces.

I was at Habbinyah across from TQ air base on the Euphrates in Al Anbar. Fister (FO) type with 1/110th Inf 28th division. 05-06. It was on route Michigan between Fallujah and Ramadi. We relieved the 2nd ID and got relieved by 3/5 Marines I think it was.
