I am in the market to upgrade my duck gun from a pump, and have been considering adding a 3.5" semi to the arsenal. Though I can afford an SBE2, the Stoeger M3500 has caught my eye. The most obvious reason is that it is significantly less than an SBE, but also that it has an inertia recoil system.

Are there any long term users of the M3500 able to provide their experiences with this shotgun? I am looking for feedback on reliability and ruggedness over 2 or more duck seasons. Given the past history of the troubles with the M2000, it would be nice to know that Stoeger worked out the bugs with the M3500.

No need for anyone to chime in talking smack on this particular firearm, I am just looking for practical experience.

I have one and have never had a problem out of it. Cycles everything from pink target 2 3/4's to 3 1/2 in dead coyotes. Every time it goes boom, boom, boom. I have had mine for a little better than 3 years I probably average 1500 to 2000 rounds through it every year. I am pretty sure that it is a SBE 1 with different furniture.

My brother shoots one. Has used it for 3 years I think. It has served him well. His won't cycle really light loads.

I had the same problem. Does he still have the recoil reducer in. Mine wouldn't cycle light loads etc dove shot. I took out the recoil reducer and haven't had a problem yet. Input it back in for heavy loads etc 3 1/2 BB SHOT

I've shot the Stoeger M3000 for the past three years with no problems. Mine handles 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells with no issue.

I bet he does, I don't know. His will cycle factory/promo loads just fine I think, but light trap/skeet is a no-go.
