I am headed up to my parents this week from Ft Hood. Through a series of circumstances I have lost my hunting buddy/guide (Dad). He and his brother would rather crappie fish on Palestine instead of shoot ducks. Me, I am not too fond of the crappie fishing thing.
If anyone would like to take this old Vet out on a hunt (I'll even let you blindfold me on the way there), it sure would be a nice change from sitting on a cow tank in the middle of the field hoping and wishing for some birds.
Really I just need to know where some walk-in areas are or where to put in my duck boat. I used to putt up the Neches when I was younger, however, with all the water, I'm not sure what that's like right now.
Any information on the area would be great. I would hate to go to the only spot I know and fumble in on somebody's hole. Not fun for anybody.
I appreciate the help and good luck to everyone this week. Maybe there will be ducks left down at FT Hood when I get back.

I don't have my boat in tyler but I have been using my kayaks around Kickapoo creek in chandler. I'm leaving houston today and will be duck hunting the rest of the week on Palestine. More than welcome to use one of my kayaks or bring your boat and we can go. Most of the time I go by my self or my father in law joins me.
