I use them to catch poachers and trespassers . To me it's not much fun watching a buck on camera half the year and punching a hole in him, and I don't hunt feeders either. Just my choice.

I love using a TC. Showing up and looking at the pics feels like Christmas morning to me.

Bought one this year and used it for a month and took it down Wanna sell it?
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

i use them but i am fairly new to hunting. i get enjoyment out of browsing the pictures on my laptop over a nice Crown and Diet to see what is on them. it does help me know when the hogs have moved in or out - they seem to be kind of cyclical. in for a few weeks, out. i don't want to wast too much time chasing something that isn't there.
i also enjoy posting the interesting ones and seeing others interesting / funny pics.

When they came out I used one for 5 years. Felt like I already knew what I was going to see and usually did. But several time a big buck showed up and got killed on our lease no one had seen on their cameras ever. After two cameras breaking I said I am done with cameras. Had a better time since. Out of 8 guys on our lease only one guy still uses a camera. I enjoy my season more without it.

enjoy mine, hunted WMA land for years. fill out card entering & again on what ya seen whin left. Seeing more & more deer than whin first opened. hunters were the eyes & ears ta help regulate. at house was seeing at least 3 different bucks & several different does, 1 buck county. Since it became 4 deer county, big difference, its low fence, open range, hopen hogs would show back up, the other wild game.

I was talking with my brother while at the lease last weekend and we started talking about maybe getting some trail cams put out. We eventually came to the agreement that we actually enjoy not having trail cams… It seems to make it more exciting not knowing what is out there and what could show up! Anyone else feel this way? I built my own "home brew" camera many years ago before people began selling them. Like so many others, I eventually became bored with it and like yourself, found it more enjoyable to be surprised at what shows up.

Every trail camera I've bought developed serious problems in short order and had to be returned. None lasted a full season. I use them to figure out just when hogs are coming around at night so I know when to sit out, or to figure out if it is hog, crows, or raccoons eating the bait. Can't see the need to use one when deer hunting. If all I want is to see pretty pictures of deer, I can get all I can stand online.
Deer quality is not measured by antler size

I don't use them but some of the kids and grandkids do and send me pics on occasion. I set blinds so much I have most the deer named. Great tool for serious hunters.

I have seen two ways about this. One is to use an electronic clock that tracks the time when a pig knocks the clock over, and the other is to use a TC with a time stamp. The more traditional folks i know use the clocks, where as the folks who prefer to see exactly what is in their area use the cameras. Just a different way to do pattern analysis. I prefer TCs though.
Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce

Most people have moved away from my antiquated technique. I use binoculars. But I don't have a feeder or permanent stand. If I did, I might move over to the dark side.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

Having them keep me from shooting that 4.5 year old 135" 10 pt. It's a good management tool. It allows me to harvest the best correct buck each year.

I am not using one this year at my regular stand. It has been more enjoyable siting in the stand without expectations of seeing the one on the camera that never comes out.
