Driving straight through on I-10 over the holidays. We must have made this drive over 30 times but always eat at the fast food joints.

Any must try places off the interstate?

If you like mesican then try L & J's in EP. Have their combo plate and order the chili con queso.

Man, I used to love Grumpy's in Flatonia, but they closed. Dang!

Also, since Grumpy's was about half way between Houston and San Antonio, the 'formerly married' crowd met there to exchange kids for the weekend visitations. The heck with that. They had Onion Rings to die for. To heck with the failed marriages. Not my problem. Give me onion rings.

Do you take the same route through San Antonia every year.

We'll be driving through Flatonia very early in the morning on the way to EP, so we may have to hit Joels on the way back from EP.

We always take the same route, going 80 mph on I-10 is a plus.

The toll road which would follow 1604 got voted down.

We go through Downtown SA if we are passing through off peak times.

I like Schobel's, will have to try some of these others.

Is that place off of Copia, across the street from the cemetery?

Is it family friendly?
