So a father and son decide to book a trip with you. Both father and son have their required licenses with all requisite endorsements. The father, though, lacks either the desire to kill/clean his kill(never been a hunter really) or the ability (hard time seeing), they are just there as a bonding experience. Either way, they approach you, and want to see if you'll turn a blind eye to letting the son just shoot everything for the both of them and just claim all game taken by son under both licenses/tags.

What do you do?

There is another option. Tell them to only shoot what they can legally and by ranch rules shoot, and follow all state rules. My choice. And if I catch a guide doing any different they are out like last weeks trash.

Anything else really jeopardizes your guides, your hunters and the landowners future freedom if your hunters are from out of state.

My fault. I should have been clearer. All limits are observed. Etc. I believe some states call it proxy hunting. The only thing happening here thats different id the dad is present.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. It is not a matter of ethics in Texas. It is illegal for someone to shoot anther persons animals.

For state game such as whitetail each one would have to shoot their own game. If it was some type of exotic deer then I would let the son shoot both with his license but the father would have to have his license on him if he wants to come out and enjoy the hunt on the ranch. Otherwise the father stays at the lodge.

And the reason you can't let that happen in your outfit (if it involves out of state hunters) is displayed in bowsnrods response. "The stories they tell" when they get back home can land everyone involved in the fed pen for up to 5 years and include a quarter million fine.
