Do you upland guys wear gloves when yall hunt? I have a client that is a upland guy and he always wears those thin shooting gloves. I find it hard to shoot with gloves on.

I've never been a fan of handling a firearm with gloves on, that is until I went pheasant hunting in Nebraska last December in -14*. I would have paid any amount of money for a pair of gloves that day and I ended up buying a pair of thin Underarmor leather gloves with a Xmas gift card as soon as I got back from my trip & now carry them in my vest all the time.

I wear gloves while quail hunting and field trialing. I generally remove my right glove when shooting.

I often wonder how it would be to use those gloves that Peyton Manning uses while passing a football.

I'm about same as Bill, If it's cold I have some gloves on but if I know I'm fixing to shoot, I pull the right one off. I have always wanted to order a pair of the Kangaroo leather upland hunting gloves from Cabelas but I want to try them on before I spend 80 bucks on a pair of gloves & I am never near a Cabelas retail store. I'm going to get by there one of these days & get a pair.

I've been using Justin leather roping gloves for years. Helps with grip when sweaty hands, keeps hot barrels and pinch points from biting my hands when shooting skeet, and protects my hands when I have to go after wounded birds in the thick stuff.

Get mine at Cavenders....

I hate wearing gloves hunting, and I generally don't wear them unless its really cold. Just keep one hand in the pocket of my vest at a time.

Last year I bought a pair of nice insulated work gloves and cut half the trigger finger off. I like them better than any of the "hunting" or mechanics gloves I tried before.

I wear a full glove on my left hand and a fingerless glove on my right. I need the dexterity to load shells more than anything. When shotgunning, there is not much need to "feel" the tigger.

I've tried cotton when its cold and the gun is slippery so I don't wear any. The leather gloves- good idea, I'm going to try that.

I wear gloves often while upland hunting. Though I don't have a usable pair at the moment, my favorite shooting gloves are US surplus nomex and leather flight gloves.

I generally don't wear. But if it's cold I wear a pair of leather shooting gloves I've had for many years. These stay in my vest for cold mornings. If it's really cold I have a pair of wool that has a leather strip in the palm and a leather trigger finger tip. I've worn out 1 pair and these are starting to show threads. Haven't seen this style in quite a while. They work fine but if I can tolerate the cold I go bare.

You won't find it hard to wear 'em when it's 17 degrees and the winds blowing 25 mph. You'll thank God for them.

An older cowboy told me one time after my saying "I won't wear overboots because my feet hang in the stirrups" then his saying " If your feet get cold enough, You will".

I can make 'em go! and I can make 'em whoa!
God makes 'em DO!
I carry the gun and blow the whistle.

Justin goat skin gloves are what I use. Get a snug fit and you will not have to take one off to shoot. $20 and you won't beat them for hunting or driving at any price.

I wear thin leather shooting gloves every time. I am to the point that I am used to shooting with them and I would rather shoot with them on. It is also helpful when dealing with a dog that may be wet, muddy, or recently sprayed by a skunk.

I have used various styles over the years...Basically, I don't wear any until it gets fairly cold...then I use the ragg wool mitten/gloves. Basically, they are an open finger style glove with a mitten that folds back out of the way. That way my off hand is completely covered (warm and toasty) and my shooting hand is warm to the first knuckle. They have a sewn in wind shear liner and work really well for those really cold days up north when you are busy asking yourself if that warm fire isn't a better deal. Hope this information helps.

I use the Cabretta leather Plainsman Gloves that Sam's carry. They fit tight and work well for me. Be sure and get the right size.

I usually wear gloves when quail hunting. Between handling dogs with burrs and thorns and picking up birds, etc... I've gotten used to having them on and prefer to wear them while hunting. I wear the kangaroo leather gloves from Cabelas I have one pair of insulated ones and one un-insulated pair. I sometimes wear the un-insulated one on my shooting hand with the insulated on my off hand depending on the temperature, but I can shoot just fine with the insulated glove also.

trick is to buy a good ($$) thin pair designed to shoot with and you won't have much trouble with them. Also, good leather lasts a long time. I think the insulated pair I have now are going on about 9 years old.

I wear thin gloves when it drops to around zero in Kansas or if it is very cold and windy. Never had a problem. Sometimes I don't wear a glove on my shooting hand but it wouldn't make much difference to me. It is SAFE either way and that is the main thing.

That's exactly what I use when it is real cold. If it is just pretty cold smile I use the ragg wool fingerless without the mitten part.

I wear gloves all the time, especially with the O/U's. I have one Citori pushing 30 that the grip is pristine. Usually wear Uncle Mikes shooting gloves.
