If you ever find something that works, get a patent on it smile

Not sure if you're gun or bow or what type terrain you hunt, but hard-to-access funnels and pinch points will boost your odds quite a bit. Be it a narrow strip of woods bordered by a field on either side, a river paralleling slough, or a pond semi-close to a lightly-traveled road. In remote areas, super-dense thickets will also divert deer one way or another--they're just as lazy as we are, if they feel safe.

Eternity in heaven or hell will be measured on a yardstick. The 10 inches between the brain and heart is the greatest chasm between God and Man.

We can fool ourselves, but we cannot fool God.

There is truth to this. Opening day on public land the deer are all stirred up. Find what you think is an escape route from one area to another and be ready to acquire your target quickly.

MikeHoncho has the right idea. Find a good spot to sit and let the other "hunters" push them to you. Worked well for me when I used to bow hunt the land around Lake Amistad.

Worked for me when I hunted public land. I walked as far as I could and saw tons of deer when guys were walking in and out. One time sat so close to the front I could see my truck would not belive all the deer I saw that guys pushed to me before dark

public land no baiting for deer, few ya can for hog hunts. each unit is little different. have sat in stands with cam many times videoing out of reach deer & hogs. think ya got em patterned, move stand, & they walk right under tree ya was in day before, rofl guess thats why dont have a t.v. show lol. have had some nice bucks, within bow range & a 11 inch wide year they switched ta 13 inch while after a bigger 13+ he didn't show up that day, did get pic of the smaller one. confused2 still enjoy the challange flag

I use a leash and 50 feet of rope to bring a deer onto public land.
