Are you looking to cure a ham or are you using a store bought ham that's already cured?

I prefer pit hams to spiral. Cover in mustard and bathe it in Dr Pepper.

I usually smoke em for a couple of hours with pecan wood. Then I make a paste of brown sugar, honey, and a LITTLE bit of ground cloves. I smear the paste onto the ham and set it a small area at a time with a propane torch. Be careful because the glaze can light on fire. (Don't ask how I know this)
I prefer to cure my own hams though, usually from the hogs I've shot.
