I've got one of these that I have hunted with and really like the fact that is so light weight, but the stock has become scuffed. I'm toying with the idea of doing some custom work on the rifle like switching out the barrel for a fluted barrel and replacing the stock. I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations.
Thanks!!!

Stocks on well used rifles should have scuffs. Don't take away its character.

Do you want it to remain feather lite like it is or do you want to add just a little?

Get a cut rifle barrel in a #4 or 5 fluted. Look at Brux for delivery time and price

To keep the stock light and same texture you have you could do a Mcmillan edge or a Manners light version or a Bell and Carlson.

Or you could probably sell that whole rifle and somebody will snatch it up a high price because of the action. Then build a true custom since youre already changing barrels and stocks.

Those rifles are selling for over $2000. You are talking about doing $700+ in work to make the gun worth less. You can replace that stock with a identical McMillan and freshen it up.

I appreciate the comments from all, and maybe I will just sell it. I bought into the Blaser R8 system few months back and will probably not being using this rifle much, if at all. I checked out the value and they are selling for pretty good coin. This one is equipped with a Leupold VX-3 2.5x8.
