Ok I have a guy wanting to trade me a colt commander 1911. He said it was from the custom shop but I can't tell a difference. Can anyone confirm this and also give me a rough value. Says if doesn't have holster wear and not sure of round count.

No idea on the custom stuff.
Just trying to help you out quick.
If it's a fairly clean Colt 1911 $1000 plus or minus $100.

Stock trigger, stock sights, stock back strap, stock grips, stock release, stock everything, no signs of polishing, and no custom shop markings. They should be on side he displayed.
No proof marks nothing...
If this gun was taken to a custom shop one of those things would be custom. If he took it to a gunsmith that polished on it on the inside not really a custom gun just some work on a stock gun.
It is a good gun don't get me wrong just not a custom gun...

Thanks that's what I needed to know. He had said he didn't know what was done to it but who he bought it from said it was sent to custom shop. Thanks for the advice.

This thing has ambidextrious safety, Novak sights, and three hole trigger it has definatly been to a custom shop.

I have a friend that has several 1911's and they all have a 3 hole triggers. None have been customized.

You can buy a RIA tactical and it has Novak sights, skeleton trigger, and ambi safety nothing custom about them.

Colt 1911 This is a link to a Colt 1911 that is a close match to this gun. Different factory grips and you have a match.
