How does the saxet gun show stack up compared to high caliber or houston collectors gun show , im in austin for the weekend and am missing high caliber in houston and was wondering am i wasteing my time ?

i hit the saxet about once every three months. its really not very good at all, at this point, i make a round and buy some jerky and get out of there. last time i went, it seemed that the crowd had really thinned out. not to mention parking is crazy with them being next door to the mexican market.. i wouldnt make a special trip

I wasn't overally impressed with it. Live close to Austin.

I was looking for a semi-auto shotgun and didn't feel the prices were any better then a gun store.

what is the one in Houston you mentioned; is it good?

ow yeah high caliber , the one at george r brown is great but the one in passadena isnt so good . i bought a winchester shotgun for 175 and a brand new 700 rem in 30/06 for 275 last aug the houston collector gun show is huga and has everything

it veries seems like one month you can find something at a price you would pay, if ya had the money, next month it has almost doubled.
it just runs cycles.

I've been twice here in S.A. and wasn't impressed both times, but that wasn't recent, maybe a couple years ago, and I quit going.

High prices, and not a lot to choose from.

Now with the storm clouds of "change," it probably won't be any better!

I go to the one in McAllen sometimes (and its the only one down here) and as some others have mentioned the prices do seem high. But if you are a seller can get a decent price just walking around with your weapon on your shoulder.

its not that great there are a couple of good dealers there but the rest is a junk show. Went there this morning and there was a long line to get in and the prices are horable same Glock you can get at Academy for a 100$ less it is crazy

Any THFer's go to the Houston gun show? How was it? Selection, prices, etc?

the old broadway(S.A.) show was pretty good. the austin show sucks.
