I don't understand how someone shoots a decoy, I've never even put a pellet in mine water swatting cripples. Maybe I just don't shoot em that close into the decoys.

Nope you are correct. 3 years ago and back I took 90% hunters and 10% new guys we maybe lost one decoy a year, now after the duck dynasty craze I take 90% new guys and 10% hunters and you can see it in my decoys. If you notice most of those are solid hits and I seldom call a shot on the water. The stories I could tell you.

Those dekes are worth more shot than fresh - wear some more paint off them and sell them on ebay. Like the scene in "Trading Places" where Billy Ray busts an ancient vase and they tell him it's insured for more than its worth.
