I already asked my buddy who taught me almost everything I know about duck hunting, and I agree with his opinion, but I was curious as to what other guys thought. Can you throw too many decoys? If so, what do you define as "too many"?

I hunted for years with only about a dozen, and a lot of times only used 6. I cannot ever remember having more than 2 dozen.

It depends on how many birds your seeing, weather, all sorts of different variables

I think it has more to do with how you place your decoys than how many you put out.

You can have to many, you can have too few, but 11 will always be just right

I have limited experience, but I would think you can have too many, but don't know what too many is. It is interesting to see the opinions on this.

if you aint running flocked you aint right Elder...in my 22 years on this earth I have learned one thing, flocked decoys are the key when hunting. those old regular plastic or wood decoys shine to much and flare my birds when they are working. that flocking keeps the glare down and and sucks em right in. Most of the time my ducks only take 1 or 2 passes and they light right in.
another thing is that the flocking adds weight and helps my GHG ride better in the water. we stayed up late last night flocking BerettaOnyx686 decoys...we are ready to jam boys

how does the flocking hold up?
They're not looking for one thing right....they're looking for one thing wrong.
