Take your time and be careful, unlike me. About 2/3 through quartering, not life threatening, but ooohhweeee did it hurt. Got the nail, and had to do some deep washing.

A little super glue will fix that.

Dermabond, which is like super glue. Wrapped in some gauze and then when I got home did a big wash out. Healing up up fine thankfully.

Be careful , my dad cut his finger cleaning a hog and 3 months later he's in the ER for a week with a strep bacteria in mitral valve, kidneys, liver, and it had broken pieces from his heart into his brain causing mini strokes. 7 days in ER and a month of carrying an IV dripping antibiotics. Just watch for fever, my dad thought his fever was from a shingles shot.

This^^^^. And wear latex gloves. Of course won't stop a cut, but will help keeping it clean. I hate cleaning pigs, so just slow down and take extra time helps a bit.

I cut the pad off of my left pinky opening weekend cutting the shoulders off...didn't realize it till I was washing my hands afterwards, and by then it was too late to worry about keeping it clean. So I just wrapped it up with a paper towel till the bleeding stopped, and put a few band aids on it. I still can't feel squat on that pad, and it's larger than it used to be scratch maybe that wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done grin

Especially with hogs. A lot of the diseases they carry may be transmitted to humans. I try to wear 'em anytime I'm cuttin' on anything..
