.300blk shooting subs is key holing paper when suppressor is on. Take suppressor off and shoots fine. I took can apart and cannot tell if I have had a baffle strike. I would like to drop it all off to someone who knows what they are looking at. I purchased can new from a vendor on here and he says it's ammo. I purchased rifle new also. Can and ammo works fine in AR. This is clearly beyond my capability and I would like it fixed. My thought is maybe threads are not true, but again I have no way to verify that.
I can meet anyone anywhere in or around DFW.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Some people claim that 220 grain boat tail ammo has a hard time stabilizing, this can lead to baffle strikes. No answer for why it would shoot fine without the can and then key hole with it on. I was told to shoot the ammo without a can if it did not keyhole then it should be good to go. You should probably ask this question on some builder forums.

What suppressor do you have? Barrel length?

Are you having the same trouble with super sonics ? Ive shot a jillion 220, 208, 194 gr subs out of mine with supressor without any issues and accuracy is deadly. Sounds very strange

I have a Ross Precision can. I do not have any supersonics. It is almost like the threading is off on one or the other. The can has only been on one other rifle and it shoots fine.

I have conversed with Chuck. His response was "it's the ammo". I have my doubts that it is the ammo because the same bullet stabilizes out of my AR. I am not insinuating that it is the can, it could very well be the ammo or the threading on the rifle. I want someone with more experience run their "traps" and get it fixed. I do not have the time or the tools to resolve the problem. That is why I made the original post.
Thank you,

What rate of twist do you have?

Well I suggested talking to him because you stated the ammo did not key hole when shooting un-suppressed. Just figure if the guy is going to sell a product on this forum that he would want to resolve customer service issues. You might not be the first person with one of his cans to have this problem. please keep us informed as to what you find. My father just got a suppressor from him and he told him he might have key hole issues while shooting sub sonic that were bthp.

It's not the ammo if it shoots fine without the suppressor on. If you have run the same combo on your AR with and without the suppressor without problems then it is probably not the can either. My guess is that the threading is not concentric to the bore and the can does not "square up" over the bore which could cause a slight baffle strike.
Who threaded the rifle or is it factory? What bolt gun is it?
Also, not to insult your intelligence, but you are using a .30 cal suppressor, correct?

Haha yes it is a .30 cal can. It is a Remington 700 AAC 5-R Tactical 1:7 and came threaded from factory.

Is it direct thread or some time of quick attach mount?
You mention can and ammo work on ar? Is that a separate gun that it works or each thing separately on the ar.
Which can is it?
How much key hole? Is it elongated circles or bullets sideways?
What is the barrel length of each gun (assuming there is 2) what is the barrel twist?

Elongated. There are 2 different guns. The AR platform with same can same ammo is very accurate.

Hmmmm....Those AAC-SD's should be perfect from the factory. I have the .308 model and it is perfect.
Strange....I'm running out of ideas. Next step is try a different weight of ammo and see if it still happens.
Also, is the twist the same on both guns?

If it was the bullet, wouldn't it key hole without suppressor also?

I would think 1in7 would be fine. I am wondering if it's not an interaction between the can and the barrel. Ie non concentric threads, or a bad qd mount? What is the attachment type?

The can threaded on just fine. I didn't force it on or anything like that.
