Anyone have experience with this rifle from Anderson Mfg?

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php...g-am15m416.html

This is my first black rifle. I want a good rifle, but I'm not going to fight a war. I like to do my homework, and I know many of you guys have considerable experience with the AR platform.

Thanks.

I've heard bad things about Anderson.. Look them up on AR15.com.. Also wouldn't order from PSA unless you want to 1-2 months..

Any other suggestions? Some on here have suggested that PSA was a good place to purchase. I tend to lurk here more than post, but I want to make a purchase now and I know that there's good info here to be had.

PSA quality is good.. CS suuuccckkkksss...

I would order this Spikes from primary arms. Their CS is second to none, they ship impossibly fast, and they are a Texas based company.

Also Spikes is great quality at the same price you were going to pay for that Anderson and it is 10 times the gun.

probably a decent rifle. Personally, I'd get a lighter profile barrel (not a heavy nor M4 profile). Do you want a carbine gas system or a midlength? Not a deal breaker, but i'd figure out now before you buy . . rather than want it later.

I think a 16" barrel and mid length gas system would be a good compromise for easy handling and accuracy. I'm not concerned about recoil.

Very good deal. Primary Arms, like stated, has great CS and shipping.

Well, I didn't look to see if the Spike's AR had to be assembled, but that's not a problem for me. I have plenty of tools and a dedicated bench in my shop for firearms maintenance, etc. And if I need to purchase another tool, well, I like tools.

If Primary Arms is based in TX, then I will have to pay sales tax. Ughhhh..

Yea, that is the only problem with that. I hate paying sales tax on guns. You might want to look at budsgunshop.com they normally have great prices. Their prices include shipping as well. I've ordered several guns from them and have never had an issue. Although as of late I've read some reviews of slow shipping times.

Is anyone around the metromess building AR's? There used to be at least a couple of guys that build them that had decent reputations, at least they seemed to.

I pretty sure he still does. I talked to him last week about some guns. I think the threading keeps him busy. Just pm him like KRoyal said he will get back with ya.

I havent had any problems with PSA but I prolly wouldn't order the Anderson rifle from the link, the reduced friction seems a little to hokey.
