About 3 weeks ago I stumbled across an older pirogue at wrightpatman. It was still there today untouched and looks like its been there a lot longer than 3 weeks. It looks like it was being used for duck hunting. I couldn't find any identification on it but if you've lost a pirogue and can identify it send me a PM and I'll tell you where its at.

Also, does anyone know if I can legally claim the boar if its truly abandoned? I've read on tpwd on claiming abandoned motorized boats but I can't find anything on small boats that aren't serialized. I guess if no one claims on here and it and its still there this weekend I'll call the sherrif and go from there??

Id leave it alone til after season. Whoever left it might think no one would find it and could show back up to use it any day.

Seriously, no ducks there... Probably why the boat was tossed out. Why let duck hunting stuff take up valuable space in the garage when you'll never see a duck.

I just found out, that a girl got killed here last week, and you knew it! You knew there was a shark out there! You knew it was dangerous! But you let people go hunting anyway? You knew all those things! But still my boy is dead now. And there's nothing you can do about it. My boy is dead. I wanted you to know that.

Yeah, that's real fine expensive gear you brought out here, Garrett. 'Course I don't know what that bastard shark's gonna do with it, might eat it I suppose. Seen one eat a rockin' chair one time. Hey Mark, next time you just ask me which line to pull, right?

Could be owned by the adjacent landowner. I know of two small boats on lakes right now, two different lakes where landowners have left them in the woods on corps land. Obvious because one is chained to a tree and one has a foot trail leading to the private land. I have run across other old boats like that before. They probably figure no one will take them because they are 1. crappy boats and 2. to take them, someone would have to have found them by walking a very long way from the road or have walked into the woods from the lake and 3. to take them they would have to tow them with another boat or bring their own paddle.
