I have a set of white phosphorous goggles from atn that were 2k and I absolutely love them. Best hog hunting investment I have made. I don't know about weapon sights because I went with goggles but with mine I can see as far as I can see fairly clearly.

the pulsar N750 would go for 1500 right now and give you eactly what you are looking for, but you could prob find a N550 which would be good out to 150 yards for sub-1000 these days.

I have the N750 and love it, very fun for hogs, coyotes, skunks, coons, whatever you want at night. With moon light you can see hundreds of yard without illumination, with no moon you can easily see 200 yards with on-board illuminator.

The 750 comes with a badass IR illuminator. Much stronger than the IR on the 550. I believe it's worth the extra dough. I got one through Ceylon @ Delta Outdoorsman, and he honestly hooked me up pretty good. I'd advise at least giving him a call.

It is an IR flashlight, essentially invisible to naked eye although there is question of whether some animals can see some of the human invisible wavelengths (another discussion there).

The N750 has a good flashlight/illuminator onboard, controlled through the unit with three intensity settings. With no moon and first setting you can see animals easily to 100-150 yards, further with eye reflection. I would guess it would range out to around 200-250 with third intensity setting. You can also buy other infrared illuminators that can work with the N750 or be mounted right to it, the most popular seems to be the torch-pro which runs around 2-300 dollars.

There are plenty of videos on youtube or on here describing the use of illuminators and the N750 and showing the difference between on-board vs extra stand alone products. A simple search will give you lots of hits, plus some cool kill shots I am sure.

Right now, Bearclaw has a ad in classifieds for the N750 and I think the price is sub 1500...excellent price for what you get. It is listed under his n750/thermal rental listing, but links to a website.
