People in NY are ordered to surrender any firearm that holds over 5 rounds! Supposedly their going to go around confiscating them to be sold or destroyed! Sold to who?
Crazy azz people running things up there! How long before it comes here!!? I hope everyone refuses and get this bs stopped!!

Man talk about a business opportunity. If I were outside the city limits I'd have a secure gun storage facility up and running in no time. Someone is going to make money off this, wait and see. OTOH, it can't be me, no way I'd live up there.

I cant write on this forum how I would respond to that letter. it is non of their business what I have or dont have.
But I would let them know that several of my guns were stolen and I didnt report it for fear of being retaliated against. And then I would say that I sold the rest of them at a gun show in Texas.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

This may be taking it a little too far, but this is exactly the type of things Hitler and the Nazis started sending out to the German people in the 30's and 40's. People laugh, but as some as said in this post, this is exactly how it all begins. The interesting and telling thing will be how they enforce this for non compliance? Will they start kicking in doors?

I have worked up north (Chicago / New Jersey), and it blows my mind the mentality in those areas regarding gun ownership. The gun control BS has been shoved down their throats so long, it is just the normal, accepted way of life for a lot of people I have talked to. Many thought it was ridiculous to have the firearm freedoms we enjoy in Texas. I'm sure this is not the sentiment statewide, but the folks I talked to were in the larger cities.
Frustrating to me how when the overwhelming loud voice of the anti's is pounded into people for so long it changes the lives of so many people who do not agree with it.

Yeah they are already required to register them. Thats how they know who to send letters to. They'll start withholding drivers licenses and professional licenses next if you don't either 1) turn them in or 2) prove it was lost/destroyed/sold.
If its a city ordeal and not county they'll deny the licenses and registration through scofflaws and other such laws. And the police/parking authorities will drive around with those nifty high tech license plate readers and scan everyone.
Technology is already in place.

Just as an example, how many of you can remember gun racks in the windows of every pickup with one or 2 guns in it? How many of you carried a shotgun to school so you could go dove hunt when the bell rang?
Yep those days are gone, and more of them will be missing before the next generation graduates high school.

I carried my shotgun on the school bus so I could go with someone after school. The bus driver carried it to the principle's office so i could get it after school. When I picked it up the principle told me good luck, shoot stright. You can beleive those days are gone.
I am not that old either just grew up in a great place.
