Need to get a shoulder mount done on my daughters first WT. I used to get stuff mounted at Flagg 25 yrs ago. How does their quality compare to other DFW taxidermist. Same, better, worse ?

Take it to Double D in Rockwall. You wont have to worry about the quality and he is the only Taxi I have ever seen that gets things back to you when he says it will be ready. And his prices are very reasonable.

Does he have a web site?

No he doesn't. He works from his shop behind his house so he doesn't have a lot of overhead and can keep his prices down. He basically gets business by word of mouth. A lot of guys on here use him.

Flagg sucks.

flagg pretty much sucks. mostly cause its hit or miss. Ive seen some ok stuff come outta there and some terrible stuff come outta there. Jensent should post a pic of his buddys bobcat they murdered

Dave has done 6 mounts for me and currently has 2 working on them.

I wouldn't say Flagg sucks. You guys are being a little hard. I have several mounts from them, and they did a damn good job. I would rather support a local person that is on the forum but I wouldn't say they got where they are today by "Sucking" I have seen some amazing mounts come out of there from my buddies as well.

I've taken a lot of stuff to Flagg. Some good, some OK, some not so OK.

Talking with them I've learned that they sub a lot of their work out to other taxi, unless you are a special customer. So it's a crapshoot who's doing your work. They, of course, they bump up the price.

North Texas tannery does a great job on hides and are 75% less ( I think they prolly do the hides for Flagg and Flagg just 4x the price to you)

I still use Flagg for some items, but regular mounts I am moving away from them more and more. I have also had billing issues with them, with Flagg routinely misplacing payments or making mistakes in accounting.

They did a mount for me a few years ago and it turned out great, but I have heard horror stories about some of their mounts. I think they have the shoulder mounts down pretty good, but not sure about other types of mounts.
