I want to take my boy squirrel hunting this weekend at Ray Roberts. Does anybody know of a good area to go? The only time I have been up there I was at the state park.

you could try the NorthEast area by Hog Creek. Saw a few there a while back. The walking areas decent, not to difficult.

Go up 59 or 45 to Sam Houston National Forest. You will need to guy the APH permit. I have been hunting deer there and seen lots of squirrels. It is about a 40 minute ride from Bush Airport. I live a couple miles from it and there are lots of places to go.

If you want to go a little further, about 2 hours from Bush is Sam Rayburn Lake. I hunt up there more than any place. Tons of big fat fox squirrels.
