For the most part, there are a lot of small deer in Fayette County.

Every now and then someone posts a picture of a deer that is very nice. Buddy has a place on the Colorado near Ellinger that he takes 110-130 class bucks on every year, but damn near never sees anything bigger than that.

Supposedly the deer have gotten much better since they passed ARs, and there are some pretty big bucks taken around the woodsy areas near La Grange.

Expensive land though. Very expensive.

Also, in regards to hunting pressure, that area is very, very cut up. Tons of 50 acres tracts. Exactly why there were no big deer before ARs. Everybody wanted a buck, so all the youngsters got shot.

Agree with all above. My family settled just north of Lagrange in the 1800's and we still have a couple of parcels. I'm 51 and most of my life there were zero deer there but efforts over the last 20 years have been effective in bringing them back to modest numbers.

Patience is the key

I've seen a bunch of them on the power plant property, including a few bucks with decent racks, but like everyone else said, smallish deer.
