I wouldn't have posted it up, and I would have "thrown them away," accidentally breasting them out, wrapping them in bacon/jap/cream cheese, and landing them on the grill in one clean move. Grill meaning trash can of course

I read this wrong three times...kept seeing "Dad", not "dog".

IGW rules withstanding, I would probably pass. You are assuming that they froze to death. That is a good possibility, but you don't know for sure.

Plus, are you in town, or out in the country? My answer might be different based on location.

Laws withstanding, I agree with the idea that you think they froze to death but of course do not know for sure. When it's questionable I ask myself what I'm gaining vs. what I'm risking, and in your case it would be 4 ounces of meat vs....

Not really knowing how they died would make me toss em somewhere. Not worth getting sick over.

Leave them where they lay. I wouldn't leave it to the game warden to make the judgment call about how these birds came into my possession. Aint worth the ticket if he doesn't believe your story for a few dove.

Bear grylls would eat them. Normal humans would not.

You can shoot 15 doves a day, why risk eating something that will make you sick.
BTW- that "breasting out a dove. Just so we are all on the same page- takes about 30 seconds to do a dove. Twist off the wings, stick your thumb under the rib cage and yank it off the body. Discard the body, head, and guts. Pull skin with feathers off the breast. 30 seconds.

Funny, I just found a dove barely alive this am huddled in a corner at the building I work at. Didn't think the cold affected them that much to freeze them to death.........

What does bag limit and how long it takes to breast a dove have to do with this thread
