Hey folks I spent 3 days last week hunting about 25 minutes from my home on the OX ranch so I thought I'd share a few photos of the hunt. I took several hundred photos and I'll try and sort thru them and post a few more later. I was hunting with a friend from my hometown that I've been hunting with since we were kids. 3 days in the field with a great friend was enough to make the hunt a huge success. We started off looking for a couple upper end axis that would top what we have taken in the past. I'm aware that its not the optimum time of year to be hunting trophy axis but it's the only time this year that we could take off for 3 daystogether so as the saying goes... It was on like Donkey Kong !!!! The Ox is a beautiful ranch that has over 17,000 acres. We hunted Axis only the first day and were able to see multiple nice bucks and many mature animals that had already dropped their headgear but none we wanted to try and put a stalk on. Day two we switched gears and decided we would hunt for a long/heavy mature Oryx bull. It was a great hunt and when I final broke out the 300WM I was not disappointed with my bull. Both of the bulls were very heavy and long. We spent the third day hunting axis does together and just catching up. It was a great trip. Take Care, Baker

Wise choice to switch up species. It's hard to beat the Axis you got with me.
