I've been hunting hard and still not seeing any bucks chasing does. I'm seeing does still with fawns. The fawns are almost as big as the does. I had two nice bucks come to the feeder and two does and after they ate the does went one way and the bucks another. Bucks had no interest. Did I miss it? Is it over? Have they not started yet? Over the thanksging holidays I sat in the blind almost 30 hours in 4 days and saw several deer. I've talked to other hunters who have said it's over and some who have said the same thing as me. I'm hunting in Van Zandt county. Getting some really nice bucks on camera but the pics are taking in the middle of the night. I'll keep hunting and see what happens. Maybe with this cooler weather I will see something this weekend.

This is the 21st century. Whitetail have gone gay. Thank goodness the Mule deer are having none of it.

I don't know about 21st century whitetail, but almost mid-November we had bucks still grouped together. I've hunted hard too. Only worked 8 days in November and none in December...been hunting the majority of that time. Last cold front, I hunted from sunrise to sunset, and was had not seen any type of rut activity. The good news for me is I saw my first buck Tuesday trailing two does. Went home for a day, back out here before the weather turned wintry. Saw nothing but bucks in the sleet cruising alone. Stay at it and hopefully you'll be rewarded for your time.

I think the main rut is over, the average breed date for most of N Central Texas according to TP&W biologist is Nov 15th. 28 days later (the estrus cycle) will be another great time to be out in the woods, around 2nd week of December.

The cold front yesterday kicked ours into high gear. It was like turning on a switch. Had been seeing very little to no chasing until yesterday morning, then the bucks turned stupid fast with nothing but doe on the brain.

I'm in the intersection of Hood,Erath,Palo Pinto,& Parker counties and yes I get to hunt in all of them I think it is over here usually peaks around Nov 15-17 and second starts around Dec 10 but the 2nd is so small it doesn't matter much I'm getting ready for the post rut where those worn out bucks start looking for easy meals, I've got some of my best bucks in mid to late December.

I don't know about over, I hunt in Harrison county and hunted yesturday and the two big bucks I seen had their heads down and were chasing the does I had like crazy. I couldn't get them to stop for nothing. My smaller bucks don't seem to have any interest. I'm like gunnut, I made sure all my feeders were in order and stocked. I'm ready for those beat down bucks to come in for an easy meal.

Rut is over here. Bucks are already grouping back up as are the doe.

My boss is hunting his place in Cooke county. Says he's never seen as many deer as he has the last 3 days. Rut is in full swing up this way
