Gps the distance at 324 yards! Still can't believe I made the shot anchored him right where he stood! Still shaking from the rush, that's what it's all about baby, love it!

Congrats but you could have closed the distance they are about as elusive as a cow. Closed the distance? Do u see the terrain I'm in? I crawled for 200 yards just to get that close. Wide open prairie and he had 6 does with him. They were moving away as I shot. He fell where he stood think that pretty much sums it up. You can do amazing things with a rifle as long as you know what it's capable of

Congrats but you could have closed the distance they are about as elusive as a cow. The mature bucks aren't. Maybe where you hunt but not the ones that I've hunted. They can be very difficult to pattern. Unlike White Tails, they don't stay in a specific core area most of there lives. They usually have a harem of does with them as well, giving them multiple eyes, ears and noses looking out for danger. I've seen many hunters come on the Pitchfork with the main goal of getting a trophy mature buck and they never even get a sniff.
