So, I finally have a day or two away from my grad school studies to hunt this weekend. After my Camp Bullis dreams were shot down, I am looking for a good public zone to hunt on. Does anyone have a recommendation for decent hunting (white tail or feral pig)land semi-close to San Antonio? It looks like there is nothing closer than Houston... so I guess if I got to travel there I will. Thanks for the help in advance!

Wish I could help you, but congrats on sticking through grad school up

Might be easier to find a day hunt around you for a doe, sometimes you can find some cheap hunts this time of year. Cheap is important when doing the "school thang"

If you can afford the Public Hunting Permit you would have maps and descriptions of all their lands in Texas. The book with maps and info come with it.Just a suggestion.

Keep your powder dry,the wind in your face and watch your backtrail.
