So I shot a really good buck Sunday, almost 21" 10 pt, so was after an antler restriction buck or doe yesterday. About 7:15 young buck comes out with one horn. Enjoyed watching him for a while then see another buck come out. Tall, fairly heavy on one side but nothing on the other!!! What's the odds???? I spent 20 min watching and checking him out close as he was about 100-150 yds out and I have good optics. So after a period of time it looks like there was no evidence of a horn so I take the unicorn out. Well, you can guess it, the horn was broken off almost smooth with the skull!!
While this was within the antler restriction I wonder if anyone else had done this? Landowner was fine with it but I hate shooting younger bucks.

Kind of how I look at it too. While this is a low fence area with fairly low numbers of hunters and deer we all try to harvest mature deer.

Our favorite saying is " You'll never kill a big deer if you shot the little deer!"

I shot one about 4 years ago, not even a bump on one side.

Our landowners son shot a unicorn WT last year. Truly one horn growing almost out of the center on his head. Need to try and get him to send me a pic to post.

I took a small 4-point on the Daughtrey WMA a couple years ago on a drawn management hunt. It had a 1" nub on one side, and three very small points on the other. The nub wasn't a broken tine, just didn't grow out. The manager was happy I removed such an ugly deer from the place

I don't see how that legal... its at least one un branched antler... to be considered a point it has to be 1 inch... so how is there an un branched antler if there is no antler at all....
