The first wood on one the left was my first call. Then I got the one next to it and didn't like the wider mouth. Buddy had one with that fancy mouth. That was a wiered feeling. Couldn't help but chew on it. The black ones kinda sucked. Thats when they went away from the good reeds. But those old ones made great carbureators in the blind but the reeds got a little sticky after that.
Man that was a long time ago. We used to share calls back then but it was the 70's ya know.

When I was a kid people gave me calls all the time, guess because they couldn't run em.

Jeff, we hunted private back then so no one was in danger.
I was a lucky kid. I learned to hunt on a 45 acre conservation lake that is now part of the refuge on the west side of Ray Roberts.
