Hey all...thanks for all of the recommendations...ending up not eating out as much as we thought. I tell ya what, if you want some good Cajun food, try Evangeline Café on Brodie lane on the south side. Really good stuff...actually ate there once for lunch and once for dinner. Packed both times, but food was great. Also had some really good sushi at Piranha Killer sushi downtown. Parking was a nightmare...but that's Austin. And as usual, caught some good music and a great sunset out at Iguana Grill overlooking Lake Travis. Great extended weekend.

aeb my 19 year old UT student/daughter introduced us to that place. We loved it! I was there for 4 years of schooling back in the day and had never heard of it.

Hills had a fire last week that damaged a good part of it, but it is open as "wounded walking".

I know your trips over but I gotta add to this....JJ's on FM1431 @ N. Bell in Leander has an OUTSTANDING 'burger and fries.

My favorite steakhouse is Austin Land and Cattle.

For Cajun/Seafood, I recommend Evangeline Cafe.

For Mexican, my favorite in Austin is Z Tejas, but Torchy's is good for fast food Mexican.

Moonshine is a great place to go for some down-home Southern grub.

Moonshine is bad arse. That pecan crusted catfish is awesome.

Moonshine is really good.
Kerby Lane does a really good breakfast.
Almost too many good restaurants to mention.

I want to try Dock & Roll. Looks good.
