Anyone seen the December picture on the Ducks Unlimited calendar this year?

Am I crazy or are that mallard's feet missing?

The new calendar has a Hollywood on it. You must have the old one.

He just forgot to put the landing gear down. You can expect a crash landing from that duck

I think he just has his feet tucked under as he's taking off. Here's a shot I found on the DU website by another photographer that show a foot just "popping out"

The bird with the foot forward is interesting, haven't seen one like that. Upland birds tuck their feet forward however ducks almost always have them trailing back. They do commonly have them so tightly held against their body that they are hidden a bit in the feathers.

I wonder if you have a chance to win more than one per calender? Like they pull tickets and if you win on say Jan 1st then that's it or if you are in the running each day? I would think for fairness you would just be able to win once but I don't know. If I really wanted to know I could find out but I'm guessing if I win one my luck would not be good enough to win another anyway.
