Great buck and heck of a first buck!!! Congrats to you both up

I was 11, hunting by myself and shot an 8 pointer. Still remember the hunt like it was yesterday.

First off let me say congrats to your son on one heck of a buck!!!

I was 14 hunting by myself and shot a nubbing buck.

My oldest son (13 yo) shot his first deer when he was 11. I was in the stand with him at the time and it was a doe.

My youngest son (11 yo) shot his first deer when he was 10. I was in the stand with him at the time and it was a doe.

Congrats to you and your son!

I got my first deer/buck last year (33 years old) and am hooked. I've always been a hardcore angler and have always wanted to get into hunting. Luckily a buddy has opened a few doors and Ive learned a lot in the past year or so and cant sit in the stand enough!

That's a heck of a first buck. Congrats to the young hunter.

I was 22 when I got my first deer. I started hunting when I was something like 13, but we lived in VA and hunted public and paper company land. Back then it was a successful trip when we saw a deer. We moved to TX and my dad finally got a lease in San Angelo and I couldn't believe all of the deer. I was so awe struck, I shot the first little basket rack 8 point I saw.

Congrats to a youngster who will remember this day even when he is an old man.

I was 14. I shot the first deer, an unlucky spike, that I'd ever seen in Smith County. Any deer sighting was quite rare back then, but not any more. ARs helping, perhaps?

Great first buck.

I've hunted my whole life but have not shot a buck yet. Last year I had the biggest buck I have ever seen in my cross hairs but didn't feel comfortable with the shot because he was just behind a bush. Landowner said he would have taken the shot. Oh well. Better not to shoot than to shoot, wound, and lose it. Maybe this year.

Can say I was 7 but don't want to elaborate. Might be some GWs lurking.
