Anyone noticing an increase in mallards with rice breasts this year?

We are running about 25%.

Shot more mallards this week than I did all season last year, which is only 8 so it's not that many lol, but I didn't see it on any of them.

Couldn't tell ya with the mallards. But I've seen quite a few teal and gadwall this season and last that were full of them.

I've killed 2 mallards with it, a spoonie and a teal. Never even heard of it until this year. Had to look it up to figure out what it was. From 0 to 4 I'd say is a pretty dramatic increase but it could just be a coincidence confused2

About 50% of the spoonies we kill have it. I've also seen it in Teal, Pintail, and Mallards this year.

Killed almost 40 mallards, a dozen spoonies and a dozen teal with zero rice breast so far. Last year was bad for teal...probably had a dozen with it in North Texas.

We have seen 2 shovelers so far with rice breast. Both on the same hunt but different flocks...

So since I've killed 114 ducks thus far, and I've had 4 with it only 3.5% of my birds were infected with the parasite. 25% is pretty high!!!
