Hey guys,
I am having a problem with my black eagle cycling. Its about 7-8 years old. Im assuming its the recoil spring but wanted to see if you guys had any tips on removal of that spring or other causes. It is sticking with the bolt almost all of the way back and the next shell in the carrier about to be pushed into the chamber.

I have had that issue a few times with mine too. If you take the recoil pad off, inside of the stock are bolts that connect the stock to the action. Take the stock off and you will have access to the recoil spring and housing and can take it off from there. I disassembled mine, cleaned it thoroughly, and put it back together and it worked well afterward.
Having said that, shot placement is key and there is only one level of dead. Us east Texans can't afford turquoise and elk ivories for jewelry. So we use hog tushes and coon peckers.

X2 on what EastTexun said....
I have had several buddies have issues with SBE; and they tended to be my buddies with the "I buy a gun to shoot it not to clean it!" mind set.....
Not saying you are but its the quickest and easiest thing to check off the list of possibilities.
Other than that the only other enduring function problem I have seen multiple of with the SBE was when people tried to run the REALLY light 7/8oz target loads that just didn't seem to have enough power to cycle.

Had same issue especially when cold - I keep all my guns clean so I knew it had to be in the recoil tube. Took the recoil assembly apart and cleaned it up, still had issues. Put an upgraded Wolff spring in it and no issues since.

I clean the gun religiously. After every hunt if it got fired. The shells I shoot are pretty dirty. I took the spring out today and cleaned the tube really well but im not sure its going to make a difference. Ill try that wolff spring if it doesnt work.

Check the O-rings. Had same issue with my rem 1100. Thought it was going to be expensive, but for $5 it was an easy fix. No one ever thinks of those either.
