I rushed a shot earlier this season and missed, though he wasn't under the feeder when I shot. However, he was back at the closest feeder the next morning.

Haven't seen him in two weeks though and he hangs out near a county road so I'm worried a road hunter got him. Sure hope that's not the case.

I didn't see him yesterday evening. I'm letting the place sit today and will return for Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully I'll see him then...

Last year I shot and missed on a buck at my feeder, easy shot just jerked it. He came back about 45 min later at dusk and I was able to connect the second time around.

Good luck cuz. I'm in the stand also. I can hear hogs and ducks. I'll give you a call when I get out.

it's getting light, but there is a fog rolling in off the creek bottom making it hard to see past 100 yds. I can make out a few pigs though..

Where I hunt in East Texas, my furthest shot is about 40yds so when the deer/hogs/whatever just materializes it just gets the heart a pumping!!!

Wow! Yeah, the field I hunt is about 240yds across to where the deer like to hang out.
If he's out there now, there's no way I'd know.

If I ever lose that heart thumping exciting feeling when an animal steps out, it will be time to hang it up and quit!!!

Exactly!

Few years ago I shot and missed a big boy one evening but went back the next afternoon and got him. Was the only time he was ever seen at the feeder.

Hope ya get him.

Yes. I shot and hit a large buck in the butt (just glanced off) he came back sat morn at two yds. I let another arrow fly....hit a limb size of my finger. screwed that up too. He ran off,I dont think he will be back now. But you never know.

Lol, I hope he does Kenny; but I don't know about that one...

I should have slipped into my other (closer to action) blind with this fog like it is. My deer don't tend to hang around very long after daylight. I'm hoping that when/if this fog clears there may be some deer out...

Shane, is it foggy for you too?

I just looked behind me back up my trail to the stand and saw three white flags running away. Don't know if they hit my scent trail, saw me move or what.

I'm starting to get really discouraged. I can't believe I missed that d@mned easy @$$ shot a few days ago. It pisses me off more and more with as many days, hours, and money I've spent coming out here...

A deer has a memory span of about 5 minutes for specific events like being shot at. They have a good long term memory for essential things like food, scents, water, trails, etc. Now if the deer recognizes an area repeatedly as a spot where there is danger, it will trigger into their long term memory.
