What do you think?
Bee county Texas.
Have a large bobcat in almost identical location on camera. This cat is shorter but seems to be crouching. This cat is definitely longer than said bobcat.

That is what I told my BIL until I saw the bobcat as reference. I've never seen any feral cat bigger than a bobcat.
I'll get a picture of bobcat and pigs in same location for reference tomorrow.

Definitely not a jaguarundi. Jaguarundi are longer and have shorter legs. Their heads and ears are rounded, giving them a more weasle-like appearance. While they have been seen in Texas, it's generally not part of their range and in areas like where this camera caught the image of this domestic feline, they tend to to be crepuscular, not nocturnal.

They also don't tend to come in that deep of a black, ranging from charcoal gray to red (once though to be a separate species called they eyra).

Do a google search for them, and you'll see plenty of them in profile.

Yep, mostly come in about four different colors and have been encountered up to Medina Lake and Quihi. Maybe farther North now that was ten yrs ago Federally protected.

Body's not long enough and legs aren't stubby enough for a jaguarundi.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Well, seeing as how the last confirmed jaguarundi sighting in Texas was in the early '80's - it was hit by a car and found on the side of the road in Los Fresnos - I'm gonna go with black house cat.

Why does everything have to be a mystical creature on a trail came? Why can't house cats just be house cats?
