 It was a good week.

Spent the last two weeks hunting at the ranch. The first week was a bit slow and warm so I didn't do much other than hang around the cabin and keep the pressure off the deer. Once the front hit things got good and the deer where really moving. The rain and winds had me in a stand I don't really care for but it paid off and I got this cull 8 on Sunday morning.  Since the deer weren't hitting the feeders I decided to place a pop up along the wheat field and see what I could do. Got this nice doe on Tuesday evening. My freezer is dang near full now, but still has room for one more.

Sounds like some good R&R and some nice deer to go with it It was indeed. Go back to work tomorrow night.  But I'm off for a week in December though too.

The best part is that the place has been in the same family for four generations and the rifle belonged to the 2nd generation owner, a WWII veteran and German POW. I never got to meet him but have heard the stories. The rifle, a Model 70 in 243 made in 1969 was near new when I got it last year and is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned, I've named it the "laser beam".
