Just got to Fredonia, KS for 2.5 days hunting before meeting wife and daughter back in hometown Salina, KS for Thanksgiving with family. Since I just got in with only 2 hours to hunt just an easy to access stand right off road. Tomorrow and Wednesday I will do all day sits. A few deer being seen by other hunters over the weekend.

Didn't see anything. Liked the setup. Will be on a better spot for all day sit tomorrow.

Good location this morning deep woods where ridge comes down to intersect a bottom with creek. Also a pile of corn although they don't seem to be hitting the corn. Already a doe ran by quickly, but nothing on her tail.

Pretty active 9-10 with 9-point plus spike and another doe. Nothing last 40 minutes except a sonic boom.

Place looks promising. Good luck up

Some of the guys just got back from our place. Sounded like the rut at ours was pretty much over. Plenty of doe and 4 days of the same bucks over and over. Hope they are moving better for you up

I think the rut is probably mostly over. Outfitter did best week ago. I don't know, other 2 guys in camp saw shooters before I got here though.

Nothing moved at all 10 to 4. I then had 4 does move by me. I thought bucks trailing because they were in line 50 yards apart. I would see body back 50 yards and think that was the buck, did that 3 times heart broken! Then had spike eat corn. Bunch of activity picked up right end of shooting 3 does came in plus some other movement and blowing behind me. Winds today hit 20+ so hopefully see a little more with lighter winds tomorrow.

18 degrees this morning, just now warm enough to post. smile. Moved to another property were 16 yo in camp saw a big 10 and missed a big 8 yesterday. His dad isn't a hunter, but he is interested in hunting and dad got him this trip. Nice kid, a little buck fever and he had been at draw for 2 minutes. I've just seen does, spike, 6-point, and 110" 8-point. Will get out at lunch wind does a 180 about 2pm.

I guess it warmed up for bucks right after it warmed up for post. Here was my description to guide "5 bucks in 20 minutes. 3 were chasing doe out front but pushed her to north towards hay. Maybe one was a borderline. Just had 125-130 8 at 45 yards behind tree and he turned north up trail instead of towards me. Grunt pushed him back in woods."

And they just keep coming. Here was a text I just sent, Chad is the 16 yo that hunted to about 10 am and then they have to drive back to Tennessee. "BIG 8 just ran across hayfield east to west about path Chad took to stand. Entered right there, didn't slow down until he got about to edge and he looked awhile. "

Too much activity to leave for lunch, I have just moved to better set for this new wind. Where I put the pin is where the big 8 entered, he should have kept going to west so I should be downwind of him. I guess slight possibility he goes back tonight same way he came. This is also where the kid saw the big 10 on Monday.
