Bosque County, 2009.

Big fan of ARs out there. The same group have been hunting this small-place family land for 20+ years. Prior to ARs it was a major feat to see any bucks at all, much less anything over 2.5. After ARs we freqeuntly see young bucks and even have a few make it to 5.5 like the buck above.

Our genetics are tall and narrow so I can't shoot a lot of the deer I need to before they are able to spread their genes around.
Evidence that ARs do nothing:

That bottom one ought to be 14-15".

The bottom one died from broadhead internal trauma last year and he was 14". Damage was already done though as now I have about 5 6 pointers running around.

The only chance I've had to get the big ugly 5 pointer is in my buddy's truck on the county road and he refused to floor it. I even offered to pay his deductible.

Funny thing about getting older:
Your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to
see through people's BS gets much better.

I like AR's 5 years ago we didn't have deer like this. Next year I hope they are even better.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I used TPWD's sampling methods.

Pic 5 indicates you have long tongue and bug eyed genetics.
