Stamp cost $200, I'm at around 7 months now on a SBR stamp and a Suppressor stamp. Also you'll have to get your lower engraved and set up a trust. So you might want to factor in those cost as well. The wait time if you were to put in the stamp today I think is some where around 15 months.

Dang. I was hoping for the $5 stamp but I guess that's for the shotguns.

I've been waiting well over a year for mine with no recourse to check on it. If I ever get mine back, Ill never do it again. Which is exactly what they want.

$200. Mine has been sitting on some ATF inspector's desk since May. No word so far.

I waited a year and a half for a suppressor

What I dont get is people say go the trust route, but getting a sig from the cleo is easier and free. I got directed to go to the sheriff and of course the sheriff signed and finger printed, didnt have to pay to get my trust set up nor did I have to pay to get my rifle engraved.

You can set up your own trust for free. Well you have to pay to get it notarized. And lots of Sheriffs will not sign off.

Any Form 1 requires you to engrave your information. Doesn't matter if it's a trust, corp or individual - you are still the maker.

That's what I was thinking. Rico you might want to check on that.

Did you do a Form 1? If you do not have it engraved you better get it done ASAP! Form 4 does not require an engraving.

there are a lot more reasons for trust transfers than not getting a LEO sig... which will be a moot point in Dec.

I'll double check on that.

He's 100% correct on both accounts. A trust doesn't have to cost anything, you just have know the law and know what to put into it. The problem is people throw the word trust around a lot, you shouldn't just use any old trust you find on the net, it should be a NFA trust. There's a BIG difference between a NFA trust and a living trust. My NFA Trust is 22 pages and covers all NFA items, the living trust I was first going to setup was only 4 pages and didn't mention anything about NFA items. So becareful of what you use. Another thing I'll mention is if you go the trust route, make sure you send in your Schedule A, otherwise you're wasting time.

If it's a trust then you need the name of the trust, city, and state. If it's not in a trust then it's your legal first and last name, city, and state.

I don't know if Morgan with Dallas Shooting Supplies is still on but he would be the person I would suggest for anything ATF. He can walk you through everything.

And a trust can be free it just depends who already has put in the time to produce a trust and whether they are willing to share. Ive done it twice and its been a breeze.

Another bit of advice you can take or leave. But pay with something you can trace. Say a check for example. Watch the bank for when the ATF puts it through then this can kinda help know where your at in the process. This used to work but I don't know if they still have the atf tracker website.

Ident Marking in Rockwall can assist you! They will let you know exactly what needs to be engraved on the lower receiver and how it needs to be done. Take a copy of the trust with you.
