I love how everyone claims either method or sportsman
my category changes every morning I get up to gun I'm at a different stage every time I hunt. Most days out with my family or friends, I am just happy to be there. Opening weekends I generally just want to shoot and put some birds on the ground. Heart of the season hunting by myself I am all about perfecting my technique and methods. I don't think I've ever been at the trophy stage though.

ok, Im at the limit stage. If I limit its a good hunt, if not Im replaying the eff'ed up shots and missed opportunities all the way home. In dove season its straight shooting stage. I love the methodology...but only if it helps me get 6.

I began with the "Watching Stage" when I was too young to handle a gun. I learned the sport by sitting in the blind with my dad freezing my a** off. Of course I got to participate in the leg work picking up decoys, cleaning birds, fixing blinds, etc. I think this helped me develop a true appreciation for the sport.
Then when my arms were long enough to shoot I entered the "Shooting Stage"
I dabbled in all the stages bt am now in the "FUN STAGE"
No need to get all technical anymore.

Maybe when I wake up tomorrow I'll decide to be in the internet game warden phase. So watch what you post tomorrow!

Don't duck hunt like I used to but I always enjoyed just seeing the ducks come in, I definitely missed more than I hit. It was a good hunt to see them fly into decoys. They really are a cool bird to watch
