I train them well. The other buck on the place that's on a camera or 2 daily is another one I don't mind breeding everything in sight. 2 more years for both those bucks should produce something special. Only problem is the amt of points they have, 3yo 10s are in serious danger of getting shot by the neighbors out there. and of course...100yds from my wife's stand too..but she's already shown she can pass him up so not worried about her having a weak moment.

Code red on branch & recycled budlight on ground. I haven't freshened it up since the first day I put the camera there.

Did have a tinks scent bomb, but one of the first bucks through sent it flying off the tree...now they're taking turns putting scent on it. I can usually smell it before I get to it.

Yeah, I no longer give her hints on where to hunt early in season...she picks where she wants to hunt and I get to pick from the rest so I'm not accused of any wrongdoing.

Give it a shot, find a very small opening in the thickest mess you can find and see what shows up. I've only had 4 of the bucks posted show up on feeder cams despite this main scrape being fairly close to one with another feeder not too far to the SE of it. That wide broken G3 buck isn't showing up on either of those feeders, but he's a regular on the one about a mile to the North. The more narrow, tall 10 (3yo) is coming through and hitting all 3.

Should I put it on a trail or just in a small opening in some thick nasty stuff?

There'll likely be several trails come together on something like I described. Needs to be big enough for the camera to have a good FOV, but not big enough that they feel exposed. Mine is set up on a spot that looks like this. Most deer on cams show up from the NE and leave out to the South intially. Usually when they pass back through within a short period of time they are on a trail coming into that blue dot from the East and head back out to the NE.
